It started development as an undergraduate college senior style project mentored by Microsoft and is currently maintained and developed by Rick Brewster. Originally supposed as a free replacement for the Microsoft Paint software that comes with Windows, it’s grown into a powerful yet easy image and photo editor tool. it’s been compared to different digital photograph editings software packages like Adobe® Photoshop®, Corel® Paint searches Pro®, Microsoft photograph Editor, and the gimp.
