Windows 8.1 is a personal computer OS that was created by Microsoft and launch as a part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. it was a launch to production on August twenty-seven, 2013, and reached general availability on October seventeen, 2013, about a year after the retail launch of its predecessor. Windows 8.1 was created on the market as a free upgrade for retail copies of Windows eight and Windows RT users via the Windows Store. Microsoft finished mainstream support for Windows 8.1 on January 9th, 2018, but extended support will not finish till January 10th, 2023.
Windows 8.1 adds support for 3D printing, pairing with printers using NFC tags, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast media streaming, tethering, and NVMe. In response to the increasing element density in displays, Windows 8.1 will scale text and GUI parts up to two hundredths (whereas Windows eight supported solely 150%) and set scaling settings independently on every display in multi-monitor configurations.
