The player starts as a young man with humble origins who wants to take the throne and become a king. He must build his power, earn respect at court, and win the love of a queen. Along the way, he also searches for the truth behind his parents’ deaths. The road to the crown is full of intrigues, political alliances, and romantic stories. The player must use his time carefully over 50 weeks to grow strong enough to claim the kingdom.
Becoming a King Gameplay
The game runs on a 50-week time management structure. During each week, the player picks an activity — training to build power, studying to raise intellect, practicing charisma, going on dates, or spending time with court advisors. The player has three main stats: power, charisma, and intellect. A higher stat in any of these areas opens up more dialogue options and story paths with different characters.
Battles are handled in an auto-battler style where the player sets up a formation and watches the fight play out. Mini-games are used during romantic dates to build closer connections with the girls in the game. There are seven girls to romance in total, including Robertina, Delia, Estelle, Tais, and others.

The game has seven unique female characters, each with her own story, personality, and romantic path. Players can collect character cards that are unlocked by spending time with the girls — these cards are stored in a gallery. There are also cut scenes for successful romantic relationships.
