Frostpunk 2 is a city-building survival game developed and published by 11 Bit Studios. The game was released on September 20, 2024, for PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. It also came to PC Game Pass on the same day. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S are scheduled to release in 2025. This is the sequel to the original Frostpunk game that came out in 2018. Around 70 people worked on developing Frostpunk 2. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 for its graphics and performance.

Frostpunk 2 Story
Frostpunk 2 takes place 30 years after the events of the first game. The story is set in New London in the year 1916. The city survived the Great Storm that happened in the original game, but now faces new challenges. The original leader, known as the Captain, has died, and players take on the role of the Steward, who becomes the new leader of New London. The game now focuses on the rise of the petroleum industry and how it changes society. While the first game was about surviving against nature and extreme cold, Frostpunk 2 shows what happens when people have to deal with political and social problems. The city is no longer just trying to survive but wants to grow and build a better future.
Frostpunk 2 Gameplay
In Frostpunk 2, players build and manage a much larger city than in the first game. Instead of placing individual buildings, players now construct entire districts that serve specific purposes like housing, industry, food production, or research. Players must manage resources like coal, oil, wood, and food to keep the city running. The Council Hall is where players deal with political factions. These factions have their own demands and opinions about how the city should operate. Players must negotiate with them, pass laws, and sometimes make compromises to maintain order. If too many factions become unhappy, the city can fall into chaos. Players also need to research new technologies that help the city expand and improve.
