In Glory & Miserable Survivors DX, you play as a female heroine who must protect a keep from large waves of incoming enemies. The game is viewed from a top-down angle and plays like a shoot ’em up combined with a base defense game. You move your character around the map constantly while enemies pour in from all sides. As you fight, you earn experience and level up during the run, picking up new weapons, accessories, and power-up skills along the way. You can also place buildings on the map to help in the fight, such as towers that attack enemies, buildings that slow enemies down, and structures that heal you or generate extra gold. When a run ends, you use the gold you earned to buy permanent upgrades that carry over to future runs, helping you get a little stronger over time. The runs last around 20 minutes per level and get harder as you go further.
