It was first released on April 25, 2023, for PC through Steam. The game later came to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on November 28, 2023, and then to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on July 31, 2024. The game was funded through a Kickstarter campaign in 2021, where it raised over $355,000 from more than 7,000 backers.

Roots of Pacha Story

You are part of a nomadic clan that follows the spiritual guidance of Pacha, the mother-goddess of nature. The clan searches for a new place to call home. When you arrive at a fertile land, you meet Vuak, the clan shaman, who helps guide your people during this important time. Your task is to help the clan settle down and build a community. Instead of staying on the move, your people will learn to farm, tame animals, and create new tools. The game is inspired by the book “The Clan of the Cave Bear” by Jean M. Auel. Through your actions, you help your clan discover new ideas that will change how they live. The game focuses on building a thriving community during the early days of human civilization.

Roots of Pacha is a farming simulation game where you grow crops, raise animals, and help your village grow. You start by exploring the wilderness to find wild plants that can be turned into farm crops. You can also find animals in the wild and slowly gain their trust. Once you befriend them, you can bring them to your farm where they will live and breed. The game includes fishing in both shallow and deep waters. You can also explore caves where you will find resources and solve puzzles. The cave exploration includes challenges from the Wise Owl Totem that give you special powers when completed. The game supports multiplayer co-op for up to four players online. You can play with friends, share resources, ride animals together, compete in fishing, and take part in festivals. The game runs on a day and season cycle where you manage your time farming, exploring, and building relationships with villagers.
