Wargame: Red Dragon is a real-time strategy game where you command military forces during the Cold War. Eugen Systems developed this game, and Focus Home Interactive published it. The game was released on April 17, 2014, for PC on Steam. It is the third game in the Wargame series and focuses on military conflicts in East Asia during an alternate history timeline.

Wargame: Red Dragon Story
The game presents five alternate history campaigns where the Cold War becomes violent in East Asia. The campaigns took place between 1975 and 1991. In one campaign, North Korea invades South Korea in 1987 after South Korean troops fire on protesters during student demonstrations. Another campaign shows China invading the Russian Far East in 1984 when tensions between the two communist nations explode.
There is also a campaign where Britain defends Hong Kong from a Chinese invasion in 1984 after negotiations about extending their lease fail. One campaign features a conflict over the Kuril Islands between the Soviet Union and Japan. The final campaign shows a Soviet invasion of Korea. You command either Western forces like the United States and its allies, or Communist forces including the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea. The game includes 17 nations in total, with their actual military equipment from the Cold War period.
Wargame: Red Dragon Gameplay
You control military units from a top-down view on large battlefields. Before a battle starts, you create a deck of units you want to use. The game includes over 1,450 military units like tanks, helicopters, jets, artillery, infantry, and ships. You start each battle with limited deployment points and must capture control zones on the map to earn more points for calling in reinforcements. Naval warfare is new to this game and includes warships, submarines, and amphibious landing vehicles. You can perform amphibious invasions where marines land on beaches supported by naval guns and aircraft. The game supports up to 20 players online in multiplayer battles. You can also play alone in the campaign mode against computer opponents.
