Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit is a 2D adventure horror game developed and published by Mega Cat Studios in partnership with Scottgames. The game was released on August 7, 2024, for PC through Steam, one day earlier than planned because of an accidental early release in Japan. Console versions came later, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions releasing on September 27, 2024, and the Nintendo Switch version arriving on October 31, 2024. The game is based on the first story from the Fazbear Frights novel series.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit Story
You play as Oswald, a young boy who lives in a small, boring town where nothing interesting ever happens. During summer break, Oswald spends his time at an old, run-down pizzeria called Jeff’s Pizza while his father works. One day, he discovers a ball pit at the abandoned pizzeria and decides to jump in. When he climbs out, Oswald finds himself transported back in time to 1985, when the pizzeria was still open and full of happy families. However, something terrible happened at this location in the past. Six children went missing at the pizzeria, and their disappearance is connected to dangerous animatronic creatures that now hunt anyone who enters. Oswald realizes he is trapped between two time periods and must survive five nights while trying to rescue his father and the children from the past before the animatronics kill them.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit Gameplay
This is a side-scrolling stealth adventure game where you explore the pizzeria from a 2D perspective. Unlike other Five Nights at Freddy’s games, where you stay in one room watching cameras, Into the Pit requires you to move through the building, hide from enemies. You travel between the present day and 1985 by jumping into the ball pit. In the past, the pizzeria was alive with activity, but dangerous animatronics roam the halls. When an animatronic spots you, you must run and hide quickly, or you will be caught and killed. The game uses a run-and-hide system where you need to stay out of sight, move quietly.
