Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What is FILEHARE.COM?
FILEHARE.COM is a website that publishes PC game and software review articles and includes download links to external websites solely for testing purposes before you decide to buy them.
2. What exactly does pre-install mean?
The Pre-Install means the games are already installed, so you don’t need to install the game. Just download and run the game.
3. Are all games pre-installed?
No! You need to install most of the games before playing them.
4. Why is my download taking so long in TeraBox? The download speed is very slow.
- Check your network connection first. If there is no problem, close and reopen the TeraBox app and try again.
- TeraBox download speed depends on network conditions and the number of users currently using the service. Speeds may vary depending on the situation.
- TeraBox Premium may provide faster download speeds and additional download features.
5. Why did my download fail?
Please check the following and try again:
- Make sure your network connection is working properly.
- Make sure there is enough free storage space on your device.
6. Antivirus Detection or Windows Security Exclusion
Some game files may occasionally be flagged by Windows Security or another antivirus program. This can happen because certain game files, DLLs, modified executables, or other components may be detected as suspicious. However, an antivirus warning does not automatically mean the file is safe or unsafe, so you should only allow or exclude files when you are confident that the source is trustworthy.
We do not recommend permanently disabling your antivirus. If you believe a file has been incorrectly detected, using a limited folder exclusion is generally preferable to turning off your antivirus completely. Microsoft also warns that exclusions reduce antivirus protection.
Option 1: Temporarily Disable Real-Time Protection
- Before extracting the game, make sure you trust the files and their source.
- Open Windows Security and go to Virus & threat protection > Manage settings.
- Temporarily turn Real-time protection off.
- Extract the game to your preferred folder.
- Turn Real-time protection back on as soon as the extraction is complete.
Microsoft notes that when real-time protection is turned off, files you open or download are not scanned in real time.
Option 2: Add a Folder Exclusion
A folder exclusion can prevent Microsoft Defender from scanning the selected folder. Because this reduces protection, only exclude a folder containing files you trust.
- Create a dedicated folder for your games, for example Games.
- Open Windows Security. You can search for it from the Windows Start menu.
- Go to Virus & threat protection > Manage settings.
- Scroll down to Exclusions and select Add or remove exclusions.
- Select Add an exclusion > Folder.
- Select your Games folder.
- Extract the game into that folder.
Remember that a folder exclusion can apply to the files and subfolders inside that folder, so avoid adding broad system locations or your entire C: drive.
Important Security Note
An antivirus detection should not automatically be ignored. If Windows Security identifies a file as malware or another security threat, do not create an exclusion simply to bypass the warning. Check the detection and source of the file first. Microsoft recommends excluding files only when you are confident they are not infected.
After uninstalling the game, you can remove the exclusion when it is no longer needed. Keeping unnecessary exclusions enabled can leave your computer less protected.
7. Why am I facing errors when I try to run the game?
Many game errors are caused by missing or outdated components. Check for a Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install the required software, such as DirectX, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, or .NET, when included with the game.
If Windows Security or another antivirus program has quarantined a game file, check the security software before taking any action. Do not disable antivirus protection simply to bypass a warning unless you have carefully verified that the file is trustworthy.
8. Why am I facing difficulties while saving the game?
Some games may have problems saving because of folder permissions or Windows security restrictions. Make sure the game has permission to write to its save location. You can also try running the game as administrator only when necessary.
9. Is FILEHARE.COM responsible for files hosted on external websites?
FILEHARE.COM does not host or control files stored on third-party file-hosting websites. Download links may direct you to external services that operate independently from FILEHARE.COM. Their availability, content, download limits, and policies are controlled by those third-party services.
10. Are the download links hosted by FILEHARE.COM?
No. FILEHARE.COM may provide links to external file-hosting or download services. These external services are operated independently and may have their own rules, download limits, advertisements, and account requirements.
11. Why do I see different download hosts?
Different games and software may be available through different file-hosting services. The available hosts depend on the files and links provided for that particular download.
12. Why is a download link not working?
External download links can sometimes expire, become unavailable, reach a download limit, or be removed by the hosting service. You can try another available download link or report the problem to us so we can check it and provide a new download URL.
13. How do I extract a ZIP or RAR file?
First, download all required parts if the download is split into multiple files. Then use a file extraction program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the files into a folder with enough free storage space.
If the archive is split into multiple parts, keep all parts in the same folder and start the extraction from the first part.
14. What should I do if an archive says it is corrupted?
A corrupted archive is often caused by an incomplete or damaged download. Make sure the download completed successfully and that all required archive parts are present. Re-download the affected part or the complete archive if necessary.
15. Why does the game say a DLL file is missing?
A missing DLL error may occur when a required runtime component is not installed or when a file was removed or quarantined by Windows Security or another antivirus program.
Check the game’s included Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install the required components. Also check your antivirus quarantine before restoring any file.
16. What software may be required to run a game?
Depending on the game, you may need additional components such as Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, DirectX, .NET, or other required runtime software. Check the game’s documentation and any included Redist or _CommonRedist folder.
17. Can I play every game on Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Not necessarily. Most modern PC games support current Windows versions, but compatibility depends on the individual game. Always check the game’s system requirements and supported operating systems before downloading.
18. How do I know whether my PC can run a game?
Check the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements. Compare them with your PC’s processor, RAM, graphics card, operating system, and available storage space.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not always guarantee smooth performance. Recommended requirements are a better indication of the expected experience.
19. Why does a game crash or close immediately?
Crashes can have several causes, including outdated graphics drivers, missing runtime components, insufficient system resources, compatibility problems, damaged files, or security software blocking a file.
Make sure Windows and your graphics drivers are up to date, install the required Redist components, and verify that the downloaded files are complete.
20. Why is there no sound in the game?
Check the Windows volume mixer and make sure the game is not muted. Also check the game’s audio settings and confirm that the correct audio output device is selected.
Updating your audio drivers and restarting the game can also help.
21. Why does the game run slowly or have low FPS?
Lower performance can be caused by hardware limitations, high graphics settings, outdated drivers, background applications, or thermal throttling.
Try lowering graphics settings, closing unnecessary background programs, and updating your graphics drivers.
22. Can I install the game on another drive?
Usually, yes. You can install or extract the game to another drive as long as that drive has enough available space and the game does not require a specific installation location.
Avoid using extremely long or unusual folder paths when troubleshooting compatibility issues.
23. Do I need to download every file listed on the download page?
Only download the files required for that particular release. If a game is split into multiple parts, all required parts are normally needed before extraction.
Read the download instructions on the specific game page carefully before starting.
24. What should I do if I accidentally delete a game file?
Check your Recycle Bin first. If the file cannot be restored, you may need to re-download the game or the missing file. Do not download random DLL or executable files from unknown websites because they may be unsafe.
25. Does FILEHARE.COM provide technical support for every game?
We provide general guidance where possible, but we cannot guarantee a solution for every game or every PC configuration. Some issues are caused by Windows, hardware, drivers, third-party software, or external file-hosting services.
26. Why does Windows SmartScreen show a warning?
Windows SmartScreen may display a warning when an executable or application is unfamiliar, has limited reputation, or cannot be verified. A warning does not by itself prove that a file is malicious or safe.
Always consider the file’s source and scan suspicious files with a reputable security solution before running them.
27. Is an antivirus warning always a false positive?
No. An antivirus warning should not automatically be considered a false positive. Security software can sometimes detect legitimate software or modified game components incorrectly, but genuine malware can also trigger detections.
Never ignore a security warning simply to make a program run. Investigate the detection first and only use files you trust.
28. Can I request a game that is not listed on FILEHARE.COM?
Yes. You can submit a game request through our Request Games page. Requests are reviewed, but we cannot guarantee that every requested game will be added.
29. How can I report a broken link or incorrect information?
You can contact us through the email address contact@filehare.com. When reporting a problem, include the game or software name and describe the issue clearly so it can be checked more easily.
30. Why does my browser block a download?
Your browser may block a download because the file is considered suspicious, potentially unwanted, or unsafe. Do not disable browser security simply to force a download.
Check the warning carefully and only proceed when you understand the risk and trust the source.
31. Can I download games and software from a mobile phone?
Some external file-hosting services support mobile downloads, but PC games and software are generally intended to be used on a compatible Windows PC. The download experience may also vary depending on the hosting service and file size.
32. Why does the downloaded file have a different name or extension?
File names and extensions may vary depending on the release, archive format, or external file-hosting service. Do not rename an unknown file extension blindly. Make sure the file format matches the instructions provided on the download page.
33. Do I need an internet connection after downloading a game?
It depends on the game or software. Some applications can work offline after installation, while others may require an internet connection for activation, online features, updates, or account services.
34. Can I update the game after downloading it?
This depends on the particular game and release. Updates, patches, and compatibility may vary. Before applying an update, make sure it is intended for your exact game version and release.
35. Why does Windows say “Access Denied” when I install or start the game?
This can happen because of folder permissions, Windows security settings, or another application using the file. Try installing or extracting the game to a normal user-accessible folder rather than a protected system directory such as Windows or System32.
36. What should I do before installing a large game?
Make sure you have enough free storage space for both the downloaded archive and the extracted or installed game. Also check the system requirements and close unnecessary applications during installation or extraction.
37. Are game saves always compatible between different versions?
Not always. Save files can sometimes become incompatible between different game versions, editions, or major updates. Back up your save files before applying an update or replacing an existing installation.
38. Why does the game ask for a missing executable or configuration file?
The installation may be incomplete, a required file may have been removed, or the release may require an additional component. Check that all archive parts were extracted correctly and review the included installation instructions.
39. Where can I find installation instructions for a game?
Installation and download instructions are normally provided on the individual game or software page. Please read the instructions completely before installing or running the downloaded files.
