The story is set in a place called the Midgard Rift, where the nine realms of Norse mythology have converged and thrown the balance of the universe into chaos. The Valkyries, who were once chosen by the god Odin to guide fallen warriors, are now fighting against a massive invasion from the underworld. Leading the demonic forces is Loki Shadowflame, a fallen god who has stolen the roots of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, and used forbidden chaos magic to transform underworld creatures into powerful beings called the Eclipseborn. The player takes on the role of an unnamed champion who is summoned by the dying Valkyrie Queen Brynhildr to help turn the tide of war against the demonic forces.

The game is played as a third-person action RPG in the hack and slash style, with Souls-like combat mechanics. Players fight alongside Valkyries against demonic legions and devil girls in arena-style battles. The game features an innovative Free-Look-Slow-Motion system that allows players to move the camera freely around the arena during key moments and view close-up angles of the action. Outside of combat, players can train with Valkyries and unlock explicit sexual scenes with them. Devil girls who are defeated in battle can also be punished in adult scenes.
