Scarlet Maiden Story
A thousand years ago, a group of warriors known as the Maidens of the Sacred Flame fought and defeated an ancient evil called the Prime Evil. Now, that same evil is waking up again, rising from deep below a place called Sinner’s Rest Abbey. Scarlet is the last remaining Maiden of the Sacred Flame, and she must go into the Underworld to stop the Prime Evil before it is too late. Along the way, she meets several characters who live at the abbey, including Misty, a fellow resident who asks for help finding her stolen belongings, and Mistress Julia, who assists Scarlet with the repentance process. The story is set in a dark and unusual world where Scarlet must face many enemies and uncover the secrets hidden in the depths below.
Scarlet Maiden Gameplay
Scarlet Maiden is a 2D action game with randomly generated dungeons, so the layout and content change with every run. The player controls Scarlet as she moves and fights her way down into the Underworld. Combat can be done using melee weapons or spells, and players can build their character however they prefer. When Scarlet defeats enemies or engages in lewd encounters, she collects a resource called Sin. Sin can then be converted into power through a repentance process, which unlocks new abilities for Scarlet. If the player dies, they re-enter the dungeon and come back stronger than before, as progress carries over between runs. Weapons, spells, and amulets can be obtained from companions at the abbey, and these companions can be upgraded to provide better equipment.
The game supports full controller support and includes Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud saving. It can be completed in around six hours for the main story.
