GUNDAM BREAKER 4 is an action game where you build and battle with custom Gunpla models. The game was developed by CRAFTS & MEISTER Co., Ltd. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released on August 29, 2024, for PC through Steam, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This is the sixth game in the Gundam Breaker series and celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 Story

The game takes place six years after Gundam Breaker 3. A new version of the Gunpla Battle simulator has been launched, called Gunpla Battle Blaze: Beyond Borders, or GB4 for short. This simulator lets players enjoy Gunpla battles from their homes and has become a massive online social network where people connect through their Gunpla models. The game is managed by an artificial intelligence called Aura that uses machine learning to improve the experience. You play as a new player entering the beta test for the first time. You meet Tao, who loves SD Gundams and shows you how the game works, and Lin, a strong fighter who wants to prove herself. The three of you form a Clan together to participate in events. Later, you encounter a hacker group called Freedom Fleet and their leader, Chaos, who wants to destroy Aura because he disagrees with the use of generative AI. Your goal is to save a fragment of Aura named Lilin from being used to destroy the simulator.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 Gameplay

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 is a hack and slash action game where you fight through missions, destroying enemy mechs. The game introduces dual weapons, where you can equip two weapons on both arms at the same time. This allows you to create unique combos by combining melee weapons like swords with ranged weapons like rifles. When you destroy enemies, their parts break off, and you can collect them as loot to use on your Gunpla. Keeping long combos gives you buffs like reduced weapon cooldown and better item drop rates. You can play solo or team up with two other players in cooperative multiplayer. Between battles, you access a mecha garage where you customize your Gunpla by swapping parts, applying paint, weathering, and decals. The game includes over 250 base mobile suit kits to choose from, and you can combine their parts to build your ideal Gunpla.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 Features

The game offers the most customization options in the series. You can now use LED and glow textures on any part of your Gunpla. Some parts let you toggle off specific components, such as removing shoulder spikes or antenna pieces. SD Gundams are included alongside regular scale models. A new Diorama Mode lets you create elaborate scenes with various backgrounds and environmental objects to capture your Gunpla in dynamic poses for sharing online. The game uses an EX Gauge instead of individual cooldowns for special abilities, allowing you to use powerful skills more often if you have enough gauge. Optional Parts return from Gundam Breaker 3 and work like EX Skills. The game has story missions as well as various offline and online mission types. You can download content, including new mobile suits, through the season pass and expansion packs. A Collector’s Edition includes an exclusive Entry Grade Gunpla kit of the Gunbarrel Strike Gundam.
