Players control unique heroes with different abilities as they move through randomly generated levels and collect randomly dropped weapons. The game uses roguelite mechanics, meaning every time you start over, the levels change and offer a new experience. Players must progress through four zones, which contain multiple levels with rooms that need to be cleared before moving forward. When you defeat enemies, you collect coins and essence that can be used to buy weapons and upgrade them to become stronger.
The game features hidden areas called Vaults behind cracked walls where players must complete challenges. Players can also spend soul essence collected in levels to improve their character stats, making runs easier over time. The game requires you to think quickly and change your strategy based on what weapons and items you find during your run.

The game currently has 14 playable heroes, with Crown Prince being the default unlocked character. Other heroes require reaching certain talent levels, spending soul essence, or purchasing downloadable content. Some heroes like Qing Yan specialize in close combat with melee abilities, while others focus on long-range attacks. Lei Lou uses chain lightning attacks to hit multiple enemies at once, while Li summons fire-based abilities that burn opponents.
