HuniePop 2: Double Date is a puzzle and dating simulation game developed and published by HuniePot. The game was released on February 8, 2021, on PC. The player returns as the same protagonist from the first game. A powerful alien being known as the Nymphojinn is awakening, and the only way to stop her is to satisfy a large number of women before a timer runs out. The player is guided by Kyu, a love fairy who also appeared in the first game. Kyu explains the situation and assists the player in preparing for the challenge ahead. The story is light in tone and does not take itself too seriously. It serves mainly as a backdrop for the puzzle and dating gameplay rather than a deep plot. The main goal is to go on double dates — taking two women out at the same time — and win the match-three puzzle rounds to progress.

HuniePop 2: Double Date Gameplay

The gameplay in HuniePop 2: Double Date is split into two main parts. The first part takes place outside of dates, where the player walks around a resort island and talks to the women who are staying there. Players can give gifts, buy items from a shop, and spend tokens to raise a girl’s stats before going on a date. The second part is the actual date, which takes place on a match-three puzzle board. The board contains colored tokens, and the player must match groups of the same color in a single move. Two women sit across from the player during every date, and both have their own stamina bars that go down when the right tokens are matched. The twist in this sequel is that two girls must be managed at the same time on a single board, which makes the puzzle more complex than in the original game. Some token types on the board can also negatively affect the player, so managing the board carefully is important.

HuniePop 2: Double Date Features

The game features twelve women in total, including returning characters from the first game and several new ones. A separate harder difficulty mode called Ugly Mode removes the color-coding from tokens, making the puzzle much harder to read. The game includes adult content in the form of unlockable CG images that become available after successful dates. A variety of gifts, food items, and stat upgrades are available to collect and use. The game also supports full controller input alongside mouse and keyboard controls.
