The story takes place in the vast land of Mournstead, where players control one of the legendary Dark Crusaders. After eons under the rule of Adyr, the dark god of the demonic Rhogar, the followers of Orius the radiance god rose against him. Unable to kill Adyr, they sealed him away instead. One of Orius’ finest warriors, Judge Cleric, established the order of the Hallowed Sentinels to watch over five magic beacons that keep Adyr imprisoned. However, the demon god is now trying to return to the mortal realm. Players must stop the impending return of Adyr and his demonic forces. The Dark Crusader has the unique ability to traverse both the living realm called Axiom and the realm of the dead called Umbral. This special power is important for fighting the demonic forces and discovering the secrets needed to stop Adyr’s followers from freeing their master.
