Luigi tries to fix a broken crystal moon called the Dark Moon. When the moon breaks, it makes the ghosts in Evershade Valley become wild and unfriendly. Professor E. Gadd calls Luigi to help. Luigi goes to five haunted mansions to collect the moon pieces. He uses his special ghost vacuum called the Poltergust 5000 and a flashlight to catch ghosts. Luigi also tries to save Mario.
