The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a first-person puzzle game developed by Croteam and published by Devolver Digital. It is a fully remastered version of the original 2014 game, The Talos Principle. The Talos Principle: Reawakened Story
In The Talos Principle: Reawakened, the player wakes up as a robot inside a strange place that has both ancient ruins and advanced technology. A voice called Elohim speaks to the player and gives instructions. As the player explores, they find text files and messages left behind by humans that raise big questions about what it means to be alive, what consciousness is, and what the purpose of this place could be. The player must figure out who they really are and why they are there. The story is deeply philosophical and asks questions about humanity, artificial intelligence, and free will.
The remaster also includes a new chapter called In the Beginning, which follows Alexandra Drennan, the scientist who built the simulation. Her story explores what drove her to create this place and the questions she faced while doing so.
The Talos Principle: Reawakened Gameplay
The game is played from a first-person or third-person view and has over 120 puzzles spread across many areas. The player collects tetromino-shaped pieces called sigils by completing each puzzle. Puzzles involve redirecting laser beams, stopping computer-controlled drones, deactivating turrets, and using a device that records and replays the player’s movements to interact with objects simultaneously. The Reawakened version also includes a hint system for players who get stuck, as well as a rewind feature that lets the player undo recent actions without restarting the whole puzzle.

The game includes the original story, the Road to Gehenna expansion, and the new In the Beginning chapter, all in one package. Road to Gehenna follows a robot named Uriel who is sent on a mission to free other robots trapped in a hidden part of the simulation. The entire game has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with improved lighting, textures, and visual detail. A built-in Puzzle Editor is also included, which allows players and the modding community to build and share their own puzzle levels.
