Players control Jack Allen, the point man of PMC Alpha, a team of mercenaries assigned to investigate the Sierra Research Facility in the Alaskan wilderness. The special forces soldier has been sent to the Alaskan research facility to retrieve data after communications stopped. The mysterious Alaskan Sierra Research Facility is now flooded with water and has been overrun by deadly dinosaurs. A covert mission to investigate an isolated research facility goes wrong when a scientist is found alive three years after his reported death. The facility contains dangerous creatures that have escaped and now threaten anyone who enters the area.

Fossilfuel 2 is a first-person shooter survival horror game where players fight against various dinosaur species. The game features diverse terrifying dinosaurs, from Utahraptor to Spinosaurus. Players use weapons, including shotguns, to defend themselves against attacking dinosaurs while exploring the flooded research facility. Players can even take on the role of a Raptor, which is unique for dinosaur survival games. The game has 3 different endings: escape the facility with PMC Alpha, betray PMC Alpha and escape alone, or team up with Natalya, the Russian spy, and escape by helicopter.
