The Binding of Isaac: Repentance has players control Isaac, a young boy who runs through randomly created rooms in a basement. Players move in four directions and shoot tears as weapons at enemies. Each room can have monsters, traps, or helpful items. When players clear a room of enemies, they can move to the next room. The game uses permanent death – if you die, you start over from the beginning with a new random layout. Players find many types of items that change how Isaac looks and how his attacks work. Some items increase attack power, others add special effects to tears, and some change how Isaac moves. The main goal is to go deeper through floors until you reach the final area.
