Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is an action hack and slash video game developed and published by Dragami Games. This is a remaster of the original Lollipop Chainsaw game that came out in 2012. The original game was created by Grasshopper Manufacture, directed by Goichi Suda, and co-written by filmmaker James Gunn. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was released on September 12, 2024, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. Later, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released on December 2, 2024. This is the first time the game has been available on PC and Nintendo platforms.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Story
The game takes place in San Romero High School, located on the west coast of America. The main character is Juliet Starling, an 18-year-old cheerleader who comes from a family of zombie hunters. On her birthday, a zombie apocalypse happens at her school. Juliet must use her chainsaw to fight hordes of zombies and save her classmates. Her boyfriend Nick gets bitten by a zombie, so Juliet cuts off his head to save him. She then carries his talking head on her belt throughout the game. Juliet fights against five zombie lords who are responsible for the zombie outbreak at her school. The game has a comedic and over-the-top tone with lots of humor.

Players control Juliet as she fights zombies using her trusty chainsaw and pom-pom attacks. The game is a hack and slash action title where Juliet can perform melee attacks, dodges, and high and low chainsaw strikes. Players can weaken zombies with pom-pom attacks and then finish them off with the chainsaw. Juliet also has a chainsaw blaster for ranged attacks. The remaster has improved this with speedier chainsaw action and auto-fire for the blaster. Players earn gold medals by defeating zombies, rescuing classmates, and breaking objects. These medals can be spent at shops to buy new combos and moves. The game has Sparkle Hunting, where killing three or more zombies at once gives bonus platinum medals. All combo actions are now available from the start of the game.

The remaster includes enhanced graphics with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The Nintendo Switch version runs at 1080p and 30 frames per second. The game has a new RePOP mode that uses more colorful visual effects. Load times have been shortened thanks to modern hardware. Online rankings are now available so players can compare scores with others. The original licensed soundtrack has been replaced with new original music due to licensing issues. Several weapons and gameplay mechanics have been rebalanced for better quality of life. The game features multiple costumes for Juliet that players can unlock. There are various levels to play through, all with zombie-filled environments to clear.
