Kvark is a first-person shooter game developed by Latest Past and Perun Creative, and published by Perun Creative. The game was first released in Early Access on June 2, 2023, and the full version launched on October 3, 2024, for PC via Steam. Console versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch are planned for a later release date. Kvark is a retro-inspired FPS that pays tribute to classic shooters like Half-Life, Doom, Quake, and BioShock.

Kvark Story
The game takes place in a fictional version of the 1980s Czech Republic during the Soviet era. Players take on the role of a nameless employee working at the KVARK underground mining and research facility. The workday starts off badly when the player wakes up to the sound of alarms going off throughout the facility. Soon, the player is fighting for survival against heavily armed people wearing HAZMAT suits as the underground facility begins to fall apart. Something terrible has happened at the KVARK facility. The story is told through hidden notepads scattered throughout the facility that players must find to reveal the full truth about the events.
Kvark Gameplay
Kvark is a fast-paced first-person shooter where players fight through dark tunnels and corridors of an underground facility. Players have access to a variety of weapons ranging from simple wrenches to grenades, bazookas, and the iconic EK-48 rifle. The game requires players to constantly move, swap weapons quickly, and use swift tactics to survive against the diverse and challenging enemies. Combat emphasises quick thinking and constant motion rather than staying in one place. The game features both simple and intricate puzzles that players need to complete to move forward in the story. Players can search for suspicious substances that may help them during their fights. The game takes approximately 6 to 8 hours to complete.

The game includes detailed and interactive levels that encourage exploration. The facility includes industrial corridors, metal walkways, and dark underground sections. Later in the game, players transition from the underground complex to surface locations for a change of scenery. The levels are designed to feel like classic shooters from the 1990s with their blocky graphics and industrial settings.
