Absolver is a martial arts fighting game where you play as a Prospect wearing a mysterious mask. Developer Sloclap and publisher Devolver Digital released this online combat game on August 29, 2017. Players are placed behind the mask of a Prospect under the control of the Guides, the new rulers of the fallen Adal Empire, who will determine your worth in joining their elite corps of Absolvers. The game takes you through ancient ruins where you must prove yourself worthy to become an Absolver.

Absolver Story
In the ruins of the fallen Adal Empire, you awaken with a mysterious mask on your face and no memory of who you are or how you got there. The Guides, who now rule what remains of the empire, have chosen you to become a Prospect. Your job is to explore the ruins and prove that you deserve to join the Absolvers, an elite group of warriors who keep peace in this broken land. The game’s story is focused on the human development of the characters as they fight to find their place in the collapsed empire. You will meet other masked fighters on your path, some who will help you and others who will test your skills in combat.
Absolver Gameplay
The combat in Absolver is all about martial arts fighting. The Combat Deck is the players’ series of attacks. You can build your fighting style by choosing which attacks to use and how to connect them. There are five combat styles in Absolver. Kahlt Method, Windfall and Forsaken are available as starting combat styles during character creation.
The most interesting part is how you learn new moves. Fighting is the only way you can build up your arsenal of attacks. Moves are learnt by defending against them in battle; you will learn it if you protect against a move enough times. When another player or enemy uses a move against you, and you defend against it successfully several times, you can add that move to your collection.
Absolver Features
The game works both online and offline. You can play alone against computer enemies or meet other real players who appear in your game without warning. Sometimes, they help you; sometimes, they challenge you to a duel. The new Faejin Combat Style blends defence and offence with percussive strikes and fluid power.
You can join schools run by other players to learn specific fighting techniques. The game also has weapons like swords and war gloves that change how you fight. You can collect armour and masks to improve your character’s appearance and abilities.
