Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, popularly known as PES 2012 is one of the most played football games worldwide from the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise. It is a sequel to the PES 2011 which was developed and published by Konami. The football game was released for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and 3, and the PlayStation Portable.
The game has been licensed by various football governing bodies like UEFA and CONMEBOL. The license allows them to use the concept of the cup competitions in the game. So you will see competitions like the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup.
Gameplay and Controls:
PES 2012 is an improvement of the previous game, PES 2011. There is an update in the team list, to fit the upcoming season. The animation and A.I. have improved immensely. You can not control two players simultaneously, for example, when defending or taking a set piece, something that could not be done in the past.
The advantage rule has also been included in the game to make refereeing better. Now, there is no need to worry that the referee will stop play during a goal-scoring opportunity after being fouled, as long as you still have the ball you can continue the play.
Defending is now a bit easier because of the help of A.I. It will help you position your defenders properly to prevent attackers. You have better control of the players, and they handle the ball better.
There are various game modes to make the game interesting. They include; Master League. This is when you choose a league and club of your choice and you try to win every trophy available using some of the best players in the world. You get the opportunity to make transfers that can potentially make your squad better.
Become a Legend:
This is a mode that you either use an already existing player or create your own player. You can only control this player during a match, and it is your job to do everything for the player to improve to help his squad.
Club Boss Mode:
This is a mode in the game that gives you the job as the club chairman. You are supposed to do everything possible to make as much money as possible for your club.
You cannot talk about football without talking about the stadium in which the matches are played. Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 has 30 stadiums in total, with 17 being licensed, 12 unlicenced, and a fictional one included.
The Pro Evolution Soccer franchise is known to focus on recreating the facial attributes, ensuring that their characters are close to reality. They try their best to also recreate their various hairstyles to go along with their look.
Konami has always had a problem when it comes to licensing various clubs and leagues. As a player, you have to play the game knowing that some of your favorite clubs don’t have their actual names and logos in them. Only a few clubs have been licensed but you can still enjoy the gameplay.
