In Papers, Please, you work as a border control agent who must check the documents of people trying to enter Arstotzka. Your job is to spot fake passports, expired visas, and wrong information while following strict rules that change daily. You earn money based on how many people you process correctly. The money you earn helps feed your family. If you make too many mistakes, your pay gets cut, and your family may fall ill or die. The game has a cold, tense mood that shows the hard life in a strict country like Arstotzka.
