Contra PC Game

Contra is a 1987 video game developed by Konami and also published by Konami. The game Contra was released on February 20, 1987. Its home version was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988. Its arc and computer versions are published in Gryzor in Europe.

Contra: A Successful Game

Contra was successful and became the fourth highest-grossing game in the series of arcade games in 1987. Its NES version also received positive reviews and was a commercial success. It was also awarded with Electronic Gaming Monthly awards for being the best game ever played in 1987.

Contra: Seven Stages

In the game Contra, there are seven stages. These number of stages may vary at different levels. The first stage is called side-scrolling, in which the player is dropped into the jungles and fights with enemies until they reach the entrance of the first base.

In the first base, he has to destroy the enemies. In stage 2, the game is switched to 3D views, where the player fights with passages inside the base camp. Here, the player has to destroy the generators.

In the third stage, there is a fixed screen. The player must destroy the enemy’s defence system to expose the final target.

In stage 4- It also called the vertically scrolling level of the game. In this the player jumps onto the top of the waterfall to reach the entrance of the second base. Here, the player must destroy a sizeable diamond-shaped sensor guarded by a defence system.

In the final stage, the player returns to the scrolling format of the first stage, where there is a snowfield, an energy plant, and a hanger waiting for him. The player must fight with the giant alien, a pawn, before reaching it smoothly. There is a cardiac creature that must be destroyed to complete the mission.

Contra: Releases

The arcade game Contra was released in three versions. These three versions are Japanese and American, which are virtually identical. Aside from the Japanese version, some kanji characters spell the game’s title. In the European version, kanji characters spell the game’s title. However, the European version, Gryzor, allows only two players to play tha game confidently.

Contra: NES Port Shines in the Game Contra

NES port intensely shines in the game Contra and looks like an actual creation by NES port. In Contra, the best part is players running through the themed levels blasting part, in which bad boys rush. The game is harsh overall but fair. There is difficulty while pushing your skills to the limits. It was one of the earliest games to use the Konami code. It gives you 30 lives for making the correct inputs. The game is challenging because 30 lives are a necessity. Konami Code is ingrained into your brain, likely because of Contra.

Verdict

On July 15, 2019, Arcade Games announced Contra’s acquisition of the Contra license. They add Micro Player mini arcade machine replicas and Pocket Player portable video game players.
