Introduction: Looking for a challenging Multiplayer FPS Game that tests your eye-to-hand coordination and your tactical planning? What about a PC game that engages you in hours of an intense gunfight while simultaneously throwing in new challenges? Counter-Strike: Source seems like a game that satisfies all your requirements. It is actually a reworked version of the old Counter-Strike game, designed for a new upgraded engine.
Like the earlier version of CS, this game also employs the traditional set-up of two teams of professionals pitted against each other in a closed area. One team has marked the terrorists and the other counter-terrorists. The players must compete against each other, completing the mission objectives while shooting and dodging. As the levels progress, the gameplay keeps getting harder. The updated version allows for a thrilling encounter between the two teams. Realistic graphics and synchronized sound effects add to the iconic charm of the game.
Unlike the other First-person shooter games in the market, CS: Source involves realistic effects like the trajectory of the grenades and the gun recoil. It keeps the players on their toes. An improved AI results in more accurate and lethal AI opponents.
Maps and Hidden Rewards
An important feature of the game is the variety of maps at our disposal. Different maps with different terrains and different settings provide a different set of challenges. As the players move through successive levels, they get a chance to earn extra in-game currency by completing hidden missions. This extra currency enables them to upgrade their weapons. A slew of other perks is always up for grabs for the players who dare. They can even customize their weapons and players.
The player’s arsenal ensures the availability of a range of deadly weapons. A primary weapon (usually an assault rifle or a sub-machine gun) is complemented by a secondary weapon (a handgun). A melee weapon like a tactical knife is also available for close stealth attacks. The recalibrated recoil might need a bit of adjusting to do for a novice player but once you get the hang of it you will feel the difference between Counter-Strike: Source and the other games of the same series. The battle arena allows for special tactical maneuvers. The more advanced AI opponents make the game tougher and more challenging. Thus it is a no-brainer to say that this particular game of the Counter-Strike series developed in 2004 makes up for some hardcore action while at the same time giving due importance to tactical plans.
